Health Insurance
Health insurance covers hospitalization and treatment costs up to your policy's sum insured, typically through a cashless network of partner hospitals or by reimbursement afterward. Most policies apply a waiting period — commonly 2–4 years — before pre-existing conditions are covered, and a shorter initial waiting period (often 30 days) before any claim is payable at all, except for accidents.
You can insure yourself individually or under a family floater, where one sum insured is shared across the family — usually cheaper than separate individual policies for a young, healthy family, though an individual policy protects each member's full sum insured regardless of who else claims in the same year.
